Make Ahead Stuffed French Toast
You don’t HAVE to make these ahead, but if you happen to have more time during the day than you do in the morning, a little prep work can help!
You can use the basic 3-4 ingredients, or you can be super extra and use 6-7.
It’s all up to you!
Ingredients:
White bread
Cream Cheese
Jelly/Jam
Eggs.
Optional:
Fresh fruit
Orange zest
Powdered Sugar
Toasted nuts
Vanilla
Cream
Coffee Creamer
Let’s jump in!
1) Gather these things in any flavor you like!
2) For my 2.5 sandwiches, I only used 1/3 of the package. I microwaved it for about 20 seconds until soft.
3) Add jelly to the soft cheese. I used 2 table spoons and I wish I had put more.
4) Mix in some fresh fruit if you’d like!
5) Lay our your bread for tops and bottoms.
6) Divide the filling evenly.
7) Smooth it out to the edges
8) Place the tops on
9) Put in the freezer for at LEAST 15 minutes. I used this time to clean up, but you don’t have to if you’re not ready for that kind of work.
10) After impatiently waiting 14 minutes, take out of the freezer and cut into triangles. Or squares. You don’t have to make them small. You can just do halvsies.
Chef C’s Note:
“PLEASE use a serrated knife for cutting all bread. Always.”
(The one with really pointy teeth similar to a steak knife)
11) Maybe don’t smoosh them in a container like I did. They turned out fine anyways 😂
The next morning! Whisk together two eggs and add a little cream and vanilla! Or be a cheater like me and add a splash of your French Vanilla Creamer!
On a griddle or sauté pan, grill each side for a few seconds until golden brown.
Optional: While the French toast is cooking, throw some fruit in a pan with a little water to make a delicious compote!
Berries will start to break down on their own in just a few minutes. Add a little sugar at the end if you like things a little on the sweeter side!
Maybe do a fancy Strawberry Rose? Maybe add some syrup? Maybe add a pound of powdered sugar on top!
That’s all up to you ❤️
